Adult Mission Trips

Following the example set by our youth, First Church adults regularly participate in mission trips.

Appalachia Service Project (ASP)

Adult ASP trips during the year give volunteers a chance to help make homes in Appalachia safer, warmer, and more livable. Trips are typically five days total.

Disaster Response and ERT Teams

Twice each year adult volunteers participate on Disaster Response Teams travelling to assist rebuilding and repairing efforts that are part of long-term recovery work (such as our work in New Orleans with the Epworth Foundation, and with Hurricane Sandy relief in New York) or more immediate disaster relief. ERT (Emergency Response Teams) represent UMCOR (The United Methodist Committee on Relief) by providing a caring, Christian presence in the wake of a disaster.
