Visitors are always welcome at First Church. Many of our newest members say they joined because they immediately felt comfortable and welcomed in our congregation. That’s something we love to hear.
If you’re getting ready to visit us for the first time, here’s some useful information:
Parking is free on Sundays at the self-park garage just across the street from First Church at the corner of Church Street and Chicago Avenue. There is also free parking at any Northwestern University parking lot on evenings and weekends.
Our main entrance for the church is at 516 Church Street, and just inside you’ll find a reception desk where a staff member or volunteer will be happy to direct you to the sanctuary, nursery, Sunday School rooms or other program locations in the building.
Our building is accessible for people with disabilities from the Church Street entrance. Our rest rooms and elevator are consistent with ADA regulations. In addition, large print bulletins, hearing assistance devices, and a hearing loop assistive listening system are available during worship. For more details on accessibility, click here.
Beginning in June, we hold two worship services until the first Sunday in September. Worship in the Park is a casual/outdoor service held at 9:00 a.m. in Lunt Park at the corner of Church Street and Sheridan Road. For this service, it is a good idea to bring a chair or blanket to sit on. The second worship service is at 10:30 a.m. in Tittle Chapel.
